High-tech construction of office building for corporate client

Size
180,000 SF
Value
$28 million
Originally built as the world headquarters for Brooks FiberOptics, Brinkmann Constructors used high-tech methods to keep pace with the changing requirements of the client's effort to consolidate staff in a single building and accommodate a corporate merger as project completion neared.

The five-story facility features two buildings linked by nine bridges through a 250-foot long, 56-foot high triangular atrium with eight granite-faced waterfalls. Extensive data and telecommunications systems included a two-level advanced network operations control center. Exacting craftsmanship was achieved inside and out; with high-end finishes throughout the interior and a sweeping oval glass curtain wall punctuated by an aluminum composite canopy
extending from the circular roof line. The exterior also features brick and limestone, ornamented by aluminum sunscreens over glass bands at each level.
