Located on the site of the former American Motors Corporation (AMC) headquarters, this project consisted of a 794,000-square-foot manufacturing space, including eight office buildouts, for an automotive parts supplier.

Since the project was classified as a brownfield site, the Brinkmann team had to install a vapor mitigation system under the slab, restricting concrete pour sizes and placement methods. The team also navigated challenges related to managing existing stockpiles and materials required to balance the site. All of these complications were addressed and resolved within the required seven-month paving timeframe.

The site’s original building remained vacant following AMC’s closure in 2010. The new manufacturing facility is positioned to help revitalize Detroit’s west side and bring additional employment opportunities to the area.
